The Partners in Ministry Steering Committee gave careful consideration on how to integrate the Education for Ministry (EFM) classes facilitated by Bath UCC. These are university level courses taught by Carolyn Chapman who graduated from EFM and is certified by the University of the South to teach this program. The Steering Committee voted unanimously to accept EFM courses in lieu of certain PIM courses. The EFM Old Testament course will count as credit toward the PIM courses of Introduction to Biblical Study, Old Testament I and II. The EFM New Testament course will count as credit toward the PIM courses of New Testament I and II. The EFM History course will count as credit for the PIM Church History course. The EFM Theology course will count as credit for the PIM Theology course.

How to Request a Mentor

The usual process to begin student mentoring within the PIM program starts during the application interview with the Steering Committee (SC). This interview usually ends with the applicant being asked who he or she would want as a mentor. This person must be a Certified PIM. The reasoning is that such a person can best help with the applicant's expectations and describe how the program functions.

Once a mentor is assigned by the SC it is up to the applicant and the mentor to communicate. The applicant should feel free to ask the mentor any question. The mentor may not know the answer to every question, but can help get the answer.
